Grant Programs

California River Parkways

This program grants funds for river parkway acquisition or development projects that meet at least 2 of 5 statutory conditions: recreation, habitat, flood management, conversion to a river parkway, and/or conservation and interpretive enhancement.

Urban Greening for Sustainable Communities

On behalf of the Strategic Growth Council, this program grants funds for urban greening plans and projects in urban areas that provide multiple benefits, including but not limited to, a decrease in air and water pollution, a reduction in the consumption of natural resources and energy, an increase in the reliability of local water supplies, or an increased adaptability to climate change.

Solicitation for urban greening planning grants is underway. Applications will be accepted thru close of business on Friday, October 11, 2013. (The solicitation period for urban greening project concepts is closed.)

Environmental Enhancement and Mitigation Program (EEMP)

The EEM program was established by legislation in 1989. It offers grants to local, state and federal governmental agencies and to nonprofit organizations for projects to mitigate the environmental impacts caused by new or modified public transportation facilities.

Museum Grant Program

The Museum Grant Program was established at the California Cultural & Historical Endowment (CCHE) to assist and enhance the services of California's museums and other groups and institutions that undertake cultural projects that are deeply rooted in and reflective of previously underserved communities.
